I enjoy paranormal stories for the most part, but not really a fan of detailed sex romantic novels. I actually much prefer to use my own imagination rather than a blow-by-blow description of how hot the sex is between characters, so personally, this was a 3 star book. It bogged the story down for me, and I found myself skipping through repeated versions of "hot sex" just so I could finish the story. If you enjoy mild to medium erotica stories, you might try this one out. Certainly not as sophisticated as 50 Shades of Gray, but there were lots of side characters that added to the humor and suspense, and they kept me reading to the end.
I consider this an adult book, rated R, but not X. I will say that the author demonstrates an excellent knowledge of what a woman enjoys from her partner in a sexually intimate relationship. I enjoyed the growth of the heroine who overcame her tortuous past, but felt the falling into bed trust thing was waaaay too fast. I will probably purchase the next book to see what develops in these characters (other than the constant lusting after everyone in Sanctuary). Author has potential in this genre,

This felt a first time author to me. I have to agree with the comments many in several of the long reviews written that gave it a one star rating. I thought the world building was poor- complicated, not enough background, too many characters, etc. I didn't understand the insta-love, and while the plot premise was good, the actual unravelling of it was not. And the BDSM thing - why? It didn't bring a thing to the plot except titillation - and it wasn't particularly good BDSM, either. I'd stay away from this book.

I first received this as an ARC For an honest review then cause it was so dang good I had to purchase it along with a few of her other books.

This was a new author for me and as such I was a bit leery of her writing style and man she did not disappoint me. There where a few errors in the story line but not enough to cause me to turn away from the book. One such error which did happen repeatedly as the story goes on is one min it is day light and the next it is night while it the story line makes you think just a few mins has passed.

Over all this is a super complex story line that will require you to think as you read but not in a bad way. It brings to light all kinds of things that go bump in the night that so need further explained. The one thing I want to know is how did the Genie and her ex come to combine forces which is left hanging in the story with no rhyme or reason.

Over all I have to say this story is a huge hit at least with me! I can not wait till the next book in this set. This is a stand alone story with no cliff hanger unless you want to know about all the souls who call the town their home! I did lose sleep from this story as I did not want to put it down till finished!
