Starving for Love eBook LT Ville

The author has an amazing ability of taking you inside the head of the main character, Sam. You feel his pain, his depression, his distrust, his frustrations, his passion, and his eventual movement toward some happiness and success in overcoming his internal challenges. I was aware that some people deliberately cut themselves, but I never understood it. This book will give you significant insight into this behavior.....you will cringe mostly, at first. Later you will still cringe but you will have some understanding of the psychology of this behavior. This is a very powerful book that can help you understand the impact of mental illness that afflicts families and their children.

Starving for Love eBook LT Ville Reviews

It was so cute and amazing. I couldn't stop reading it, it's one of the cutest books I've ever read and I love how it looks into problems that most people think only girls have, like struggling with self-harm and anorexia.
This is one of the most touching, thought provoking, emotional book I have read in a very long time. It was quite scary in the sense I saw so much of myself in Sam and his depression. The story is so well written I question if it was based on a true story. It made me laugh, cry and take me places mentally I haven't been to in awhile. Overall an amazing book with a really powerful meaningful message I won't soon forget.
This book gave insight on a subject I really know nothing about. To shed light on the cutting on the hurting yourself. Kudos to the author for the storyline and for talking about things others don't. U never know what people go though in their lives but are quick to pass judgement on others. Loved the book
This book was very well written i had a family member who goes threw these things and i must say it was really good. I liked the fact that sam someone like tom in his life because i wonder if tom was not there where would he be. I was even more excited when he opened up to his family members i could tell that his family really loves him it just took a while for him to see it. There was never a dull moment in this book in some was it taught me how to deal with my family member a lil better than i was so i say thank you mr LT Ville i cant wait to get started on his next one
"Starving for Love" is yet another good book by L.T. Ville that has succeeded again (just like his previous book "Bump This"), in touching the reader's heart and mind. This book follows a high school student named Sam who suffers from anorexia and an overwhelming urge to cause physical harm to himself. Reasons range from being bullied, to thinking nobody cares and ever will care about him, and to his family not really interacting with him causing him to feel left out and unloved. The only thing brightening up Sam is his best friend/boyfriend Tom, who wants nothing more than to be there for Sam and try to help him through his problems because he fears losing Sam like someone else who had a huge impact in his life, and because Sam is his true love and he want's to see him healthy. Sam battles the emotional and mental struggles on the path to recovery as he tries to bring his world up off the ground that's been shattered so many times, by so many people. He can't do it alone and he encounters support from people he never thought he would get it from. This book leaves the reader craving for more rooting for Sam's recovery and makes you rethink the affect you may have on people and what it could lead to. You will truly see inside the mind of someone who's "Starving for Love".
This book was tough. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly written and incredibly honest. The main character brought you into his life from the very first page and you felt for him and with him. The writer obviously did their research or maybe even has first hand experience with the issues dealt with in this book because it was spot on-- the emotions, the faulty thoughts and misperceptions, the battle between wanting so desperately to be loved but feeling as though they don't deserve it.

Really excellent! And the progress the main character made was realistic yet inspiring. It wasn't rainbows and sunshine and things that are just not true at that stage for the mentally ill.

I highly recommend this book but I would warn that it is a very emotional and at times painful read.
Starving for Love” is the angst-filled account of an outcast teenage boy’s struggles with mental illness & alienation from his own family, while he also comes to terms with his sexual orientation, & the fact that he’s in love with his male best friend. This story really resonated with me. I so loved Sam, the main character, who affects a typically Goth exterior but inside is this endearingly sweet, uncertain boy, who tugged at my heartstrings. I wanted to jump into the book & give him hugs <3! It has themes of eating disorder, self-harm & self-loathing, but ends on a realistically positive note.
